How Does Postini Work?

1. Inet7 will route all inbound e-mail through the Postini filtering systems, which is setup to detect suspected SPAM and Virus infected e-mails before they reach your e-mail server or computer.
2. Any suspicious email is quarantined in your personal, password-protected Message Center for 14 days.
3. From the Message Center, you can modify your default filter settings, activate/deactivate virus or spam services, read/delete or deliver specific quarantined messages.

The Postini service is private, secure, and nobody has access to your e-mail or knows you are using the service (does not append fancy little messages to the bottom of your emails). There is no need for additional software or hardware on your systems as Inet7 takes care of all routing before it reaches your network.

Spam Filtering:

Settings: From within the Message Center the end user can set filtering to 5 different levels from OFF/Lenient to Agressive filtering in each of 5 categories: Bulk Email, Sexually Explicit, Get Rich Quick, Special Offers, Racially Insensitive. The system rejects email based on content as well as internal e-mail header information.

Custom Access Lists:

Approved Senders: Users can manually add specific e-mail addresses or accept e-mail from an entire domain by adding it to their personal approved "senders list".		Denied/Blocked Senders: Users can also manually add specifc e-mail addresses or or deny email from an entire domain by adding it to their personal "blocked senders list".

Anti-Virus Filtering:

AV protection is also bundled in and supported by McAfee. The virus definitions database is updated live every 15 minutes directly from McAfee, so you know you have the latest up-to-date information and protection for your e-mail. From your Message Center, you can turn this on or off.
